The Ghost Boy

Chapter 2 (Part 1)

By evening, the family and all their possessions were at "Moss Banks", the new house. It was not quite accurate to say that they had moved in. Most of the furniture and carpets had been carefully stored in the large barn. The family had spent he afternoon dragging out the old smelly carpets and lino from all the rooms. These were now piled in a heap in the field. Each room had been thoroughly swept and aired to make it a bit fresher. They installed just enough furniture to manage - their beds. a sofa, a table and four chairs. These was so much work to be done that it was a waste of time unpacking things only to move them from room to room as work progressed.

After a tea of sausages and beans cooked on a camping stove, Sam sat at the table with his parents. They were all tired, but mum was still planning what she would do.

"We can knock down this wall between the kitchen and the bathroom to make the kitchen larger. Then we'll move the ballroom upstairs to the cat's room," (as they now called the smelly little room), " and that way we'll have a lovely, big kitchen and the bathroom will be nearer to the bedrooms," she explained, pleased with her ideas.

"Hang on," said Dad."If we move the bathroom to the opposite end of the house, it means I will have to put in a completely new set of drains."

"You are so clever,"said Mum flattering him,"you can do it."She was very cunning when she wanted her own way.

The Ghost Boy

Chapter 1 (Part 2)

As he wandered deeper into the house along a maze of passages, away from the open door, the smell became stronger. He went up the stairs and opened a door that led off a halfway landing. It led into a small room with a high ceiling, the only light coming from a small window which was low down in one corner. Sam felt himself choking, the air was so foul.

"Blimey, things must have been bad for the old girl near the end,",said his dad, pushing past him to open the window.

"What do you mean?"asked Sam.

"Well, the old lady who owned the house was eighty,"explained Dad."The house was much too big for her. As she became ill i imagine she couldn't be bothered with the upstairs. "Although it's obvious the cats id!" he added as an afterthought.

"Mum, this is awful! We can't live here," declared Sam to his mother as she entered the room. She was smiling to herself and wore that dreamy expression that Sam recognised immediately. Oh no! She was making plans.

"This can be the bathroom," she announced as if he had not spoken.

"Well, I'm not moving here. You'll have to leave me behind," Sam cried and he stamped out of the room.
Along the landing were two large bedrooms, each hanging with cobwebs and thick with dust. Sam looked across the wilderness of a garden to the field beyond. His heart sank. He knew that this was just what his parents had been searching for, an old house with a large garden and some land. They enjoyed restoring old things, doing alterations and decorating. But what about me, thought Sam. He remembered his comfortable room, arranged just as he wanted it - a corner for Lego, his bookshelves and his bed tucked under the sloping roof. He glanced around the dreary room he was in, absentmindedly picking at the rotten wood of the window frame. It would mean leaving his friends too. he would miss Chris and James. What about school? Would he have to go to another school? His stomach lurched at the thought. He bit his lip as tears stung his eyes.

The bedroom door creaked and the old metal latch clicked. A shadow on the wall slowly moved as the door squeaked open.

"Boo!" In jumped Rob, his elder brother, grinning at his own joke.

"Get lost, Rob," said Sam crossly, taking his anger out on his brother.

"Come on, kiddo, it's great!I've been round the back. There are steps leading to a balcony and a huge barn! And at the other side the workshop with a loft above it. I'm going to ask Dad if we can have that for ourselves. We could fit it out, get a snooker table."

Rob was just as bad as Mum and Dad. Who would want to live in a dump like this?

"I've told them I'm not living here," Sam shouted and stormed off back to the car.

That had been two months ago. His feelings had not changed. It had been arranged that he could still go to his old school, travelling by car each day, so his worst fear had been avoided. His parents had tried to explain all the advantages to him: more space to play, afield with a slope for sledging in the winter, trees to climb, the loft to share with Rob as a private den. there was even some cautious talk about a dog. He had argued with them, but they would not change their minds. Even when they heard the house was haunted, they were not put off. Now he had to face the fact that tonight he would have a new home.

The Ghost Boy

Chapter 1(Part 1)

The day Sam dreaded had finally arrived. they were moving house. Form his window he could see the high, blue furniture van belonging to the removal firm. He looked round his bare room. His mattress stood against the wall. The small legs had been unscrewed from his bed, tied together with string, and were lying next to the mattress. Without curtains the room seemed unnaturally bright, showing up the dirty marks on the wallpaper like his finger marks on his art paper when he tried to use charcoal. There was a line of dirt where his table had been against the wall. The remains of a dusty cobweb hung down unsupported.

Angrily Sam squashed his poor bear into the bulging carrier bag, along with two Lego pieces and a handful of marbles. In a corner were some stickers that had fallen down behind the cupboard, unnoticed until he furniture had been removed.

From the very first visit to the new house he had told them he wasn't moving, but his parents had taken no notice of him. His mother had peered at the roof and guttering, saying he could soon fix the water that was pouring in a waterfall over the front door. The inside was even worse. As soon as he stepped through the door, Sam's nose detected the most vile smell he had ever encountered. It was partly due to he damp that showed in grey and black patches all the way up the walls. But it was not just that. Sam sniffed cautiously in his disbelief. It was the smell of cats who had been shut up in the house all day.

Dear friends,

For the Moral Studies students, I guess it is already the time to use our knowledge to help the environment and earth of course!!!
Must remember the principe 3R(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)

Bukit Bendera

My family and i went to the "Bukit Bendera" ( I don't know what is it English Name) last year.

I got tricked by the signboard there!!

I'm very excited when I saw the signboard on the hill showing that there is the "jambatan gantung" 2km away from the cable car!!

So, I told my family why not we go there and experience it.

It took a long time to walk the destination.

When we reached there, I realised that the entrance of the "jambatan gantung" had a notice board stated that the tourist have to pay to walk on the skybridge!!

Besides, we are required to wear sport shoes and with empty hands!!

But, all of us wore slippers and we're carrying drinks (it's a hot day).

Thus, we had no chance to walk on the bridge and enjoy the nature.

Sadly + dissapointed, we walked back 2 km again to the cable car pit stop.

We felt so tired when we finally reached back the pit stop after walking 4km total..

I felt bad because got tricked by the signboard as it didn't stated the fee require there.

Not only me got tricked, there was also a few tourist walked all the way to the skybridge and walked back to the pit stop because they were carrying things and wearing sandals.

So, here is the advice + details:

1) Ask the people there about the fee for the "jambatan gantung" and what you required to
where before you go into the cable car.

2) Besides, you also have to go there early to buy the tickets or else you have to but the next
day's ticket. Don't ever think that if you go there on around 12pm, you still manage to buy
ticket.. You're wrong!! There is no more ticket except for the trip around 6pm or 7pm.
p/s: the fee for the cable car is RM4 for adult.

3) There is nothing fun there. Most of the tourist go there (including me) just to have the
experience on the cable car.

4) The cable car is so hot. The weather also very hot. So, for those who do not want to walk on
the "jambatan gantung", better bring water!!

5) You have to stand on the cable car because there is only a number of limited seats for the
physically challenge people.

6) You are required to take another cable car when you reach half of the hill.

7) The cable car is very very pack.

8) The traffic there is terrible!! Hardly find a parking there because it is located at the housing
areas. So, you can park at AYER ITAM and take bus to there. But, make sure you go into the
right bus.

9) Must try the famous ASSAM LAKSA at AYER ITAM. It is located at the market. When you
see there is a lot of people there standing to wait for a place to sit and enjoy the delicious
ASSAM LAKSA..Then that is the place!!(It is located at the t-junction.)One bowl RM2.30
(subject to change).

10) You must also try the PUTTU PIRING/MAYAM there. The PUTTU PIRING/MAYAM
there is made by pandan juice. It is very tasty and cheap. One packet RM1 only( subject to
change).

So, better plan before you go.

Kek Lok Si Temple's look when all the Beautiful and colourful lights are switched on!

Kek Lok Si Temple's look when most of the lights are switched off!

This incident happened when I went to the Kek Lok Si Temple with my relatives from out station.
It was three days before Chinese New Year, thus we went there to see the beautiful scene of the Kek Lok Si Temple.
By the time we reached there is almost 10:00pm. When other relatives are admiring the beautiful scene, my two cousins, my sis and me were so busy taking the photos.
SUDDENLY,my cousin screamed loudly telling us that his camera had no batteries! Thus, he cannot take any pictures more.
When he finished screaming, one part of the Kek Lok Si Temple's light blew off!!
This really gave us a big shock!
Then, my sis also screamed that our camera also gone off!
AND...GUESS WHAT??
The light's gone off at another part of Kek Lok Si Temple!!
This is so unbeliveable!!

Tips: How to stay safe in a car accident

Dear fellow friends,

I knew that many of you had gained a driving license or still having driving lessons. Thus, these are the information that can be pretty useful when you meet an accident.

But, I do pray that none of you will meet an accident.

So,DRIVE SAFELY!!

You just heard and felt the crunch of hitting another car. What do you do now?

*Stay calm.

*If no one is hurt ans the cars are driveable, drive off the roadway.

*If the cars are not driveable, you are now a potential hazard to yourself and other

drivers.Put your hazard lights on.

*Look around.Be aware of oncoming and passing cars. When safe, get out of car, stay

out of the street and set out cones to warn other cars of the accident.

*Exchange information with the other driver.

*When all information is exchanged and cars are driveable, get back into the

car, watch for traffic and safely re-enter the roadway.

*This is not the time to blame or find fault.Likewise, this is not the time to settle the

accident.Do not accept payment on the spot for damages.
